Idolizing Celebrities Is And Has Been So Over

In the past few years and even just within 2024, an unfathomable amount of information has come out about various celebrities including Ellen, Drake, Kanye, Nicki Minaj, J-Lo, Liam Payne, Dr. Phil, Dan Schneider, and perhaps the most disturbing P Diddy. This list was genuinely impossible to cut off… there are so many more celebrities who have done and continue to do absolutely despicable things. There are also countless celebrities whose dark side were already revealed Bill Cosby, Chris Brown, R Kelly, The Kardashians/Jenners, and so so many more. 

One commonality in Hollywood scandals is Scientology. The Church of Scientology has been faced with a multitude of lawsuits including accusations of forced labor, human trafficking, and sexual abuse. Many former members have come out and additionally criticized the church for illegal medicinal practices, fraud, vindictive actions against former members, and harassment. Many celebrities associated with the church have been accused and even convicted of abhorrent crimes. One example of this is Danny Masterson who was convicted for the rape of two women. I suggest you look into some of your favorite celebrities, you may be surprised just how much of Hollywood is involved with Scientology.

Drake has been under fire for years amid rumors of pedophilia which is extremely prominent in the music and acting industry. I mean has anyone ever listened to 29 by Demi Lovato? This song literally tells the story of the relationship she was in at age 17 with then twenty-nine-year-old Wilmer Valderrama. Kendrick was not the first person to call out someone in the industry for pedophilia via song and I’m sure he won’t be the last! Hollywood is riddled with sexual abuse, pedophilia, drug abuse, assault, and even murder– and it always has been. 

Something a lot of people forget is that Hollywood has always been like this. Look into Shirley Temple’s life. The entire reason the drink Shirley Temple exists is because she spent countless hours in bars with grown-ass adults as a literal 5-year-old. Other examples are Jeanette McCudry (or any Nickelodeon star) and Drew Barrymore. These children were supplied with alcohol and even hard drugs as young as 9. Let that sink in. These child stars aren’t to blame, their parents and bosses are to blame. 

I genuinely don’t have enough storage in my Google Drive to write everything about Sean Combs (P Diddy). He was indicted on September 16th for sex trafficking and racketeering and has a total of 131 sexual assault allegations against him; the youngest of the victims is eleven. Diddy is accused of drugging women/minors, rape/sexual assault, sex trafficking, domestic abuse, assault, and is even tied to multiple deaths. Diddy hosted huge parties where much of this abuse took place. It’s important to remember that he’s been paying off law enforcement for years and tons of celebrities were involved/complicit in the abuse. Beyonce and Jay-Z are some of the most notable celebrities to be associated with his crimes. This isn’t even the tip of the iceberg and I recommend looking into the P Diddy list so you know everyone involved. 

The reason this is such an issue is these celebrities genuinely think they’re untouchable and as sad as it is sometimes are. The only way to end this is to stop idolizing celebrities. Celebrities are people, not gods. Idolizing celebrities is so very over, and it shouldn’t have ever existed. Celebrities can be admired but never idolized in a way that makes them untouchable like P Diddy.
