Local Turf War Linked to Black Market Activity

Local circus clown Honky-Donkey was arrested this evening on counts of smuggling and illegal possession of goods, where officers discovered evidence of illicit substances hidden in the large shoe compartment of his car. Under closer inspection, the officers determined that these substances were clown shoe enhancing drugs which had been purchased from the Black Market.Authorities searched the vehicle, finding 12 kilos of clowncaine and 5 kilos of LSD (larger shoe drug). Along with drugs, officers found cases of Swedish Nose Enlargers™, military grade flower squirters, and semi-automatic horns hidden behind another car in his trunk, which Honky-Donkey attempted to evade police custody in. The criminal clown managed to escape in said mini-vehicle, resulting in a three minute car chase which ended in a crash after his car slipped on a discarded banana peel. After exiting the wreckage, Honkey-Donkey attempted to shoot an officer with a unregistered toy gun; he was promptly caught and beaten into submission with squeaky rubber batons.

Numerous other cases have been reported regarding the possession of illegal clown material, marking the largest surge in Black Market activity since 2016. Authorities believe this surge is connected to the ongoing turf war between the Clown Cartel and the Mime Syndicate, who have been battling for control of the Acorn Street performer spots since late 2025. Members of both criminal parties have been thoroughly interrogated, with many “Clownies” (individuals affiliated with the Clown Cartel) having provided intel on the inner workings of the current situation as well as its alleged conception.

According to the Clownies, the recent turf war was a direct result of the Mime Syndicate’s blatant disrespect towards the group. Tensions between the two had been rising over the years and finally erupted after the “___” (leader of the Mime Syndicate) refused to speak with the “Big Wig” (leader of the Clown Cartel), claiming they were “busy” despite being clearly unoccupied in their invisible office. After being confronted by the Big Wig, the “___” proceeded to walk down a set of invisible stairs, disappearing shortly after leaving him [Big Wig] with an obscene gesture. This disrespect, the Clownies claim, prompted the battle over the previously shared Acorn Street. Other explanations as to why this turf war began have indicated the Clown Cartel is responsible; however, the “Blites” (those affiliated with the Mime Syndicate) seem determined to remain silent about the situation.

The turf war sparked a need for increased funds for both parties, which the organizations satisfied by conducting business in the local Black Market. The criminals’ increased activity not only funded their conflict, but encouraged the development of others, providing ample access to illicit goods throughout Acorn Valley and creating a surge in Black Market activity.

Local law enforcement has been cracking down on the issue, arresting more than twenty-eight clowns transporting illegal materials this past week, all of whom were in the same vehicle. To combat this issue, police have begun to use aggressive tactics, including but not limited to: using metal batons (instead of rubber), performing thorough body and vehicle searches, and adopting the use of flower-squirter waterboarding to encourage criminal confessions during interrogations. Captain of the police force, Jerald Mīme, is reluctant to request outside assistance for this issue, reasoning that it will become an “unnecessary hindrance” due to the fact the local department is not government sanctioned and is technically a circus entity. Authorities have been working around the clock to mitigate Black Market activity and bring to justice those perpetrators like Honkey-Donkey who threaten the very safety of our community.
